Diana Carlen is a Vice-President and member of the firm's Washington State Governmental Affairs Group. Diana primarily represents clients in Olympia focusing on legislative and executive lobbying. She specializes in advocating for public utilities and business clients.
Prior to joining Gordon Thomas Honeywell Governmental Affairs, Diana served as Leadership Counsel to the Washington State Senate Republican Caucus where as a member of the senior staff she advised caucus leadership on legal and legislative issues. In addition, she analyzed and drafted legislation for caucus members on issues involving the environment, energy, water, telecommunications, natural resources, agriculture, regulatory reform and land use. Prior to working for the Senate, Diana practiced law for several years focusing on land use and environmental issues and also served as a Law Clerk to Chief Justice Gerry Alexander of the Washington State Supreme Court. In recognition of her work, Diana has been selected as a "Rising Star" by Washington Law & Politics Magazine.
Diana graduated from Seattle University School of Law where she was a member of the Seattle University Law Review. Diana received her undergraduate degree in political science from Pepperdine University. Diana now lives in Tacoma with her husband.
