Matt Doumit joined GTH as a Government Affairs Consultant in September 2018. He works on a team representing a variety of public and private sector clients on legislative and executive matters in Olympia. Prior to joining the firm, Matt worked for the Washington House Democratic Caucus as caucus staff for Rural Economic Development. There, he advised members on a variety of policy issues like natural resources and agriculture, rural broadband expansion, and workforce development.
Prior to returning to his home state, Matt worked as non-partisan staff for the Oregon Senate Human Services Committee where he focused on issues surrounding behavioral health, foster care, and housing. He was also a legislative intern for Oregon legislators on both sides of the aisle while attending law school, and served as a judicial extern for Judge Douglas Tookey on the Oregon Court of Appeals.
Matt has also worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, as a forester for timber companies around the Northwest, and grew up working on his family’s tree farm in Southwest Washington. Matt graduated from Willamette University College of Law in 2015 with a J.D. and certificate in Law & Government. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from Washington State University. He currently lives in Federal Way with his wife.
